The International Baccalaureate® is an international educational foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland, and founded in 1968. The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a rigorous and challenging two-year course of study that provides students a well-rounded education. Its qualification, the IB Diploma, is recognized by many universities around the world. In 2019 after a thorough analysis of Golden Valley School’s mission, values, programs and policies, among other standards, Golden Valley School (GVS) adopted the Diploma Program (DP) for the final two years of our students’ high school career.
Through the IBDP, GVS students will become more independent, aware of their local context and the world they live in. They will drive their learning as they manage their projects and tasks. Furthermore, our students will expand their perspectives for a more globalized world in which competencies and soft skills are needed.
Our high school students will graduate from a program that promotes ongoing learning, personal growth and a holistic education. IB at GVS will develop security, self-identity, empathy, enthusiasm, open mindedness, ethics, and many more qualities.
