Every Student Seen, Heard & Supported
A specialized team of psychologists, psychopedagogists, and counselors — working together to ensure every child thrives emotionally, academically, and socially.
Meet the DepartmentWellbeing Is Not a Program. It Is Our Culture.
The Student Wellness Department at Golden Valley School promotes the integral wellbeing of every student through a person-centered approach that addresses emotional, social, academic, family, and spiritual needs. Our work is preventive and formative — accompanying the full development of each student and ensuring every action prioritizes their wellbeing in a safe, inclusive, and emotionally healthy environment.
Guided by respect, confidentiality, equity, and shared responsibility, the SWD bridges students, teachers, and families — because we believe the family is a fundamental pillar of human development. Three disciplines work together: psychology, psychopedagogy (learning support), and guidance — so every dimension of a student's life is held by a professional who specializes in exactly that.
Preventive
We act before problems escalate — building skills, resilience, and self-awareness from the earliest years.
Interdisciplinary
Three specialized disciplines — psychology, psychopedagogy, and guidance — collaborate on every student case.
Family-Centered
Families are active partners in every process — from admission to graduation, school and home move together.
Three Disciplines. One Mission.
Unlike a single school counselor, GVS operates three specialized departments that work together — each contributing a distinct professional lens to ensure no student's need goes unaddressed.

- Preventive life skills programs by age group
- Transition support (primary → secondary, level changes)

When Your Child Needs Support, the Whole Team Shows Up
When a student needs attention, the SWD doesn't operate in silos. Psychology, Psychopedagogy, and Guidance collaborate — sharing observations, aligning strategies, and meeting with families as a unified team. Your child's story is held by multiple professional perspectives at once.
Early Detection
Proactive identification before difficulties escalate.
Interdisciplinary Case Review
All three disciplines analyze and align on each case.
Family Meetings
Joint sessions that bring school and home into alignment.
Ongoing Follow-up
Progress is tracked, documented, and shared with families.
Life Skills & Character Education
Wellbeing isn't an add-on at GVS — it's woven into the weekly schedule. Every student has dedicated Life Skills classes facilitated by our psychology team: age-appropriate, evidence-based, and genuinely transformative.
"These sessions are the space where students learn to be human — not just students."
Emotional Self-Management
Recognizing, naming, and regulating emotions — tools for life, not just school.
Assertive Communication
Expressing needs, opinions, and boundaries with confidence and respect.
Anti-Bullying & Digital Citizenship
Healthy online and offline relationships, bystander skills, and personal safety.
Group Dynamics & Leadership
Cooperative work, peer influence, and learning to lead with empathy.
Healthy Decision-Making
Understanding consequences, managing peer pressure, and choosing well under stress.
Values, Purpose & Community
Personal identity, meaning, and each student's role in the wider school and society.
Who Am I? What Do I Want to Become?
These are the questions that define adolescence. Our Guidance department walks alongside every secondary student as they explore their identity, discover their strengths, and build a life plan — with validated tools, professional expertise, and deep personal care.
Self-Discovery
Exploration of interests, values, strengths, and personal style using validated psychometric instruments.
Life Project
Students build a personal roadmap — short, medium, and long-term goals that align with their aspirations and values.
Vocational Fairs
Annual fairs with universities, technical institutions, and professionals — expanding each student's horizon of possibilities.
University Admissions Support
Step-by-step guidance through national university registration and coordination with our international university placement specialist.
Because Parenting a Child Is Hard — and You Shouldn't Do It Alone
We believe the school-home alliance is the single most powerful force in a child's development. That's why we don't just call parents when there's a problem — we build a genuine, ongoing partnership.
Here's how we show up for your family:
Escuela para Padres
Our parent education program offers workshops, talks, and reflection spaces on parenting, communication, emotional development, and how to support your child at home — co-facilitated by our psychology, psychopedagogy, and guidance teams.
Direct Family Consultation
Any parent can request a meeting with our team at any time. We provide guidance on academic concerns, behavioral changes, emotional challenges, and family transitions with complete confidentiality.
Continuous Progress Reports
Integrated reports from all three SWD disciplines are shared with families, ensuring coherent, personalized, and continuous support across school and home.
More Than a Department — a System
The SWD operates within a robust institutional framework of specialized committees that ensure every student — regardless of their needs or profile — receives structured, coherent support.
Learning Support Committee
Technical support for students with specific educational needs, including coordination of curricular adaptations and specialized follow-up with families and teachers.
Coexistence Committee
Handles conflict cases, mediation, restorative strategies, and application of school guidelines — with a focus on growth, reflection, and restored relationships.
Talent & High Potential Committee
Identifies and accompanies students with exceptional abilities — ensuring they are challenged, engaged, and supported to develop their gifts to the fullest.
A Values-Based Culture
10 Minutes with God
Every school day begins with a moment of reflection, gratitude, and purpose — centering students emotionally and spiritually before the academic day begins.
Values of the Month
Assemblies across primary and secondary are organized around a monthly value — from respect and family to excellence and peace — creating shared language and culture across the school.
Peace Month & Trip Around the World
Annual community-wide events that celebrate our diversity, promote conflict resolution, and build solidarity — bringing together students, teachers, and families in shared purpose.
