Golden Valley School is seeking a full-time Primary Teacher Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lessons and activities.
• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students during recess, transitions, and special events.

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Academic Requirements

• Student or graduate in Education.

Experience and Skills

• Previous experience working with children ages 6 to 12 in educational or recreational settings.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (required).
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate educational practices.
• Ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and work collaboratively.
• Familiarity with Montessori or the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a plus.

About the role

Teach IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Psychology, supporting our students in their learning and preparation for internal and external assessments with a rigorous, ethical, and critical-thinking-driven approach.

Key responsibilities

Teaching and planning

• Teach IBDP Psychology in line with the current subject guide.
• Design units and lesson plans that integrate the biological, cognitive, and sociocultural approaches to behaviour, as well as the course options.
• Develop active learning experiences that foster inquiry, scientific rigour, and critical analysis.

Assessment and IB preparation

• Guide and supervise the Internal Assessment, supporting each student through their study.
• Prepare students for external assessments based on official IB criteria and rubrics.
• Apply ongoing assessment, timely feedback, and individual progress monitoring.

Development of the IB profile and thinking skills

• Strengthen research skills, data analysis, and ethical reasoning.
• Promote international-mindedness and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile.

Student support and wellbeing

• Closely monitor students' academic and social-emotional development.

Collaboration and professional development

• Take part in ongoing IB training and the institution's professional development.
• Maintain timely, professional communication with families.

• Experience and/or training in the IB Diploma Programme (desirable).
• Command of Spanish and English.

Essential Requirements

1. High-school diploma (Bachillerato en Educación Media).
2. Valid food-handling permit (Carné de Manipulación de Alimentos).
3. Demonstrable experience with cash handling, high-volume payments, and customer service.
4. Proficiency with card payment terminals and various electronic payment methods.
5. Knowledge of inventory control and food handling.
6. Ability to work as part of a team.
7. Proactive, organized, responsible, and customer-service-oriented.
8. Ability to work under pressure and with a high volume of transactions.

Desirable Requirements

1. Mid-level Technical degree in Accounting or a related field.
2. Experience in institutional dining halls, cafeterias, cafés, or high-service-volume restaurants.

Main Responsibilities

• Charge for products and issue the corresponding payment receipts.
• Operate the cash register, card terminals, and other electronic payment methods.
• Perform the daily opening, closing, and balancing of the cash drawer.
• Safeguard the cash and other valuables under your responsibility.
• Provide courteous, prompt, and efficient customer service.
• Verify the correct application of prices and the billing of products.
• Promptly report any cash discrepancy or incident to the immediate supervisor.
• Keep the cash area clean, tidy, and in optimal condition.
• Support product dispatch when operational needs require it.
• Help arrange, clean, and organize the refrigeration units.
• Perform basic cleaning and restocking of the coffee machine.
• Support the replenishment and arrangement of products for sale.
• Comply with hygiene, food-safety, and occupational-safety standards.
• Follow the institution's internal policies, administrative procedures, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with other food-and-beverage tasks when required by management.
